Alex Lukatchik

Alex Lukatchik, 92 of Luzerne passed away on February 24, 2025. He was born in Edwardsville a son of Alex and Eva Lukatchik. He was a graduate of Edwardsville High School and served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.

He was a was a member of Labor Union Local 130 and was employed by Somerville Construction and Sordoni Construction, and he also worked at the Berwick power plant.

Alex was the former president of Title 1 reading program at Wyoming Valley West School District. He enjoyed being with his family and lending a hand to help his neighbors with projects. Alex will be missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Bugdonovitch; daughter Susan Lukatchik; siblings, Steve, Mary, John, Mike, Helen, Nick, Anna, Julie.

Surviving are his children, Alexander Lukatchik, Anne Paolino, Sandra Lukatchik, Walter Lukatchik, Lara Lukatchik; granddaughter Jillian (Stephen) Wippel; great grandchildren, Vivien Leigh Marquissee, Mabel Pearl Wippel, Molly Dove Wippel; sister-in-law Anna Irene Bugdonovitch.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date.
