Dianne Suzanne Saia (Krasniak), 73, of West Pittston, PA, passed peacefully from this life to the next, January 7, 2024, following a brief battle with lung cancer and a rapid decline in health.
Dianne was born January 20, 1950 to the late Leon and Marie Krasniak. She spent her childhood in Luzerne, PA, and graduated from Central Catholic High School. She married and began a family in Luzerne before moving to Swoyersville, Exeter, and West Pittston where she resided for the majority of her life.
Dianne’s career focused on retail and fitness center management. She became a paralegal just prior to a physical disability, which allowed her to spend her life focused on loving and supporting her family. Dianne was a life-long yard sale fanatic, both as a buyer and seller. She greatly enjoyed her pets, promoting animal welfare, and playing games and spending time on her iPad. She also had a great love of music with ”Georgia” by Ray Charles as her favorite song and she was thrilled to have met her favorite artist Willie Nelson after a concert. She had a great sense of humor, loved inspirational quotes, and had a strong faith in God and prayed often. Dianne possessed a kind heart and always tried to better those most in need.
Dianne’s family was her greatest passion and absolute joy, all of whom she loved more than anything. They remember her as a beautiful, strong, kind, caring, and compassionate person who taught them the only condition to loving is loving without conditions.
Surviving are Dianne’s former husband, Michael, in West Pittston; brother Leon (Lee) Krasniak and his wife Linda and her daughters Hillary and Erica in Enola, PA; children Michael and his wife Danielle Saia in Charleston, SC, James Saia and partner Katie Salansky who live locally; grandchildren Graziella and Luke; niece Catherine Hirst in Edinburgh, England.
If Dianne could convey her personal experience from beyond, she’d urge all smokers, especially long- time smokers like herself, to finally quit smoking, as she did after 40 years. She made that critical decision following a major health scare, which prolonged her life by nearly 19 years and enabled her to meet and enjoy her grandchildren.
Dianne’s family would like to thank the staff at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Allied Services Meade Street Skilled Nursing, and Allied Services Wilkes-Barre Rehab Hospital. They truly cared for her and made a real difference in her health during the last months of her life.
At Dianne’s request, a private service will be held at the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home in Luzerne.
