Dolores M. Kosisher, 97, of Luzerne passed away on March 20, 2026 at her home.
She was born in Pringle a daughter of the late John and Eva Rutkowski Zawoiski. She was a proud graduate of College Misericordia and was the first lay teacher in the Scranton Diocese.
Dolores was proud of her Polish heritage and visited her ancestral farm in Poland . She also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe. She was a voracious reader, Jeopardy fan and history buff. Dolores had a strong faith and volunteered for many church activities.She knew the value of hard work and also how to have fun.
She was an excellent baker and enjoyed gardening and hosting holiday gatherings.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Leo Kosisher, and siblings Joan, Evelyn and Jack.
The family would like to thank Allied Services Hospice for the care that they provided for the last eight months.
Surviving are her children, Leo Kosisher, John Kosisher, Karen Kosisher and her husband Rob Mahon; her dear grandson Jack and her dog Allie.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9.30 a.m. from Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, 568 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in Holy Family Parish. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Annunciation Cemetery, Pringle.
