Dolores Opsitos

Dolores Opsitos, 94, of Swoyersville, passed away on February 16, 2022 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was born February 11, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of the late Fred Maletta and Maria Grizinski. Dolores and her husband Michael raised their children in Swoyersville. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael; sisters Nancy Tirpak, Madeline Gruver, Carmella Peeler; brother Paul Cosimo; sons Robert “Torchy” Clark, Paul Opsitos and grandson Stephen Semanek. Surviving are her sons, Mark and his wife Judith of Edwardsville, Joseph and his wife Patricia of Swoyersville; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, brother Joseph Cosimo, sister, Peggy Imfeld, several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call Sunday from 2-5 at the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Ltd., 568 Bennett Street, Luzerne. A Parastas service will be held at 4:00 p.m. by Rev. Andrii Dumnych. Private interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Swoyersville.
