Elizabeth Ruth Gerlach

Elizabeth Ruth Gerlach, 95, of Luzerne, passed away on December 8, 2021 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Elizabeth was a resident of Hampton House Nursing facility for the past four months. She was born October 25, 1926 and was employed in the garment industry for 32 years. She was devoted to her family and loved caring for others and her fur babies. Elizabeth loved her husband, children and grandchildren. She married Raymond W. Gerlach in November, 1947 and they spent 74 years together as husband and wife. Raymond W. Gerlach Sr., passed away on November 7, 2021. Elizabeth and Raymond had two children, Raymond W. Gerlach Jr., and Joyce Cooper, currently residing in Oregon. Raymond W. Gerlach Jr., passed away on August 19, 2021. Surviving are her daughter, Joyce Cooper, Portland, Oregon; granddaughters, Ranee Gerlach Smith, Hanover Township, Jessica Gerlach, Whitehall, Joy Ogg, Portland, Oregon; grandsons, Raymond H. Gerlach, Larksville, Jamie Cooper, Portland, Oregon; 11 great grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held at a date and time to be determined.
