Frank Joseph DiBuo, 88, of Luzerne passed away on November 19, 2024 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Plains Township. He was born December 4, 1935 and was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Martello DiBuo. He was a graduate of Luzerne High School and Penn State, Wilkes-Barre.
An Army veteran he served two years at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne.
Frank was employed as a survey crew chief and was a member of Operating Engineers 542-C. He worked for Bechtel Corporation on construction of the Procter and Gambel Plant, PPL Nuclear Power Plant, Frackville and Nesquehoning co-generation plants. Frank was also employed on the construction of Route 81, tower line construction, river dike restoration, reconstruction of Route 80 and prior to his retirement the construction of the Scranton Industrial Highway.
An avid hunter, fisherman, and trap shooter he was a member of the Rose Hill Trap Club and the Harveys Lake Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed watching his favorite teams, Boston Red Sox, Minnesota Vikings and Penn State.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Marlene, the love of his life who died on January 23, 2017.
Surviving are his son Frank and his wife, Donna, Easton; daughter Michelle and her husband Thomas Appleman, Stockertown; granddaughters, Maria DiBuo, Adrianah and Katie Appleman; brother, James and his wife, Yvonne, Pittsford, New York.
Frank will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
The funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Ltd., 568 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in Holy Family Parish.
Interment with military honors will be in Italian Independent Cemetery, West Wyoming. Friends may call Sunday from 5-8 p.m.
