Genevieve M. (Radzwilka) Wisnieski, 98, of Shavertown passed away peacefully this week surrounded by her family. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Genevieve was the daughter of Mary and Joseph Radzwilka, of Wyoming, PA. She graduated from Wyoming High School in 1946 and was part of the literary club. She always believed you could do anything if you can read.

She married Thomas “Bud” Wisnieski in 1956 and had 3 children. She enjoyed everything to do with family, especially her holiday celebrations. She was an accomplished seamstress, gardener and loved to cook, particularly her pierogies and potato pancakes.

She is survived by her children, Arlene (Carl) Stapinski, Thomas Wisnieski, Jr., Jean Marie Jackson, and 7 grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Bud Wisnieski, Sr. Genevieve was pre-deceased by her brothers Al, Ed, and Frank Radzwilka; and sister, Helen (Radzwilka) Zavada.

Other surviving family members include her brother-in-law Daniel Wisnieski and wife, Irene; sister-in-law, Fran (Wisnieski) Spatola; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The funeral will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, 568 Bennett Street, Luzerne with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in Holy Family Parish. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, July15, 2026 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton, PA.
