Hazel Southwell

Hazel Southwell, 92, of Luzerne passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Maple Ridge Healthcare Center, Kingston.

She was born November 19, 1932 in Wilkes Barre a daughter of the late John and Hazel Reilly Pope. She attended the Luzerne schools and was formerly employed in the local garment industry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Southwell, daughter, Linda Azain, granddaughter, Robin Malia.

Surviving are her grandson Robert Malia; great grandchildren Robert, Dylan, Josiah, Elijah, Asher, Da’Mya; sister Isabelle Hoskins; brothers Michael Pope and Joseph Pope.

Friends may call Saturday from 8: 30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Ltd., 568 Bennett Street, Luzerne. Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
