James P. O’Gorman III, son of the late James P. O’Gorman Jr. and Helen Dauksis O’Gorman passed away peacefully in the care of Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre on June 24, 2022. He loved being around family, biking, hiking, and kayaking. He and Maryann loved trips to and around the New York wineries and watching the elk in DuBois. James served in the United States Army Reserves, Unit 402 from 1963 to 1969. He retired from High Mark in 2020 after working there for 17 years. Previously he worked in the air conditioning and refrigeration field. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Maryann O’Gorman; son James P. O’Gorman IV, and his wife Heather; niece Donna Piekanski, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. James was preceded in death by his brothers Frank and George and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank the staff of Allied Services Hospice Center for their loving care. Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Ltd., 568 Bennett Street, Luzerne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 in Holy Family Parish by Rev. Jarrod Waugh. Interment will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Lehman. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Allied Services, 100 Abington Executive Park, Clarks Summit, PA 18411 or to the American Lung Association.
