Jean Leandri

Jean Leandri, 97, of North Walnut Street, Luzerne, died peacefully on September 19, 2024. A life-long resident of Luzerne, Jean was the daughter of Caroline and Jacob Blassic. She graduated from Luzerne High School, Class of 1945, and remained a loyal member of Holy Family Parish in Luzerne.

Jean was a loving and devoted homemaker, wife, and mother. She loved caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was cherished by her loving husband, Rudy (deceased), sons and daughters: William and wife Christine (and Paula deceased); Linda (deceased); Norma and husband Tom Swartwood; Rick (deceased) and wife Vicki; Elena and partner Jerome Crilley (deceased); David and wife Susan; Daniel and wife Kathy. She was blessed with the love of sixteen grandchildren Dr. Holly Leandri-May, Mandy Leandri-Babcock, Samantha Alesi, Allison Leandri-Kustrin; Joshua Wardell; Jacob Swartwood, Jesse Swartwood; Dr. Paul Leandri, Cameron Leandri, and Stephanie Ehrenberger; Nathan Leandri, and Benjamin Leandri; Alexandra Leandri, Melissa Dross, Kara Grace Leandri (deceased), and James Leandri, and eleven great-grandchildren who all adored their Nanny, as well as by her many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Glaser, and preceded in death by her brother Cmdr. Robert Blassic, and sister Delores Yakus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., September 28, at Holy Family Parish, Bennett Street, Luzerne. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 -10:00.
