John J. Zimniski

John J. Zimniski, 95, of Luzerne, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Regional Hospital of Scranton. He was born January 7, 1927 in Luzerne a son of Joseph and Ann Zimniski. He was a graduate of Luzerne High School and was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater.

He was employed at the family garage in Luzerne and enjoyed fishing in his spare time.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, William Zimniski and Joseph Ashley.

Surviving are his wife, Sophie (Wisniewski) Zimniski; children, Linda Partoln, Judy Florio, John Zimniski, Thomas Zimniski, Steve Zimniski; 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. from Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, 568 Bennett Street, Luzerne. Services will be conducted by Msgr. David Tressler. Private interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call Thursday from 10-11 a.m.
