She is also survived by her son Pat, wife Serena, and beautiful grandchildren Isla Joy, and Sammy, her daughter Shannon, partner Chris, her sisters Maggie, brother Bill, wife Denise, sisters Sara Dawn, husband Tom, Jamie, partner Jay, Ellen, partner Steve. Joyce also leaves many nieces and nephews and their spouses. Kim, Erica, Rhena, Dave, Cara, Natasha, Megan, Dan, Zach, Robin, Nick. She had many great nieces and nephews including Karson with whom she had a special bond. She attended Sacred Heart Grade School, Bishop O'Reilly, and Bloomsburg University. She worked for many years at JC Penney and added many friends along the way. We want to thank her many care givers who helped her along this journey, especially Dr. Paula RonJon and staff at the Henry Hood Cancer Center, as well at the 5th floor nurses at GWV, and the wonderful staff at Allied Hospice in Wilkes Barre. Our beloved warrior fought bravely and always with beauty, grace, and most importantly with love! She used encouragement and the ability to find the good even in the darkest of storms to make it all seem a little easier to tolerate. She loved the ocean and showed us how to be strong even when the waves were crashing around us. She gave us strength by the example of her courage in facing each uncertainty and challenge. She left us this as well as countless other gifts: “I see beauty in life every day from the sun shining on my face to the sweet sound of my loved ones voices. No one knows when we shall pass but I want my loved ones to know I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I wish for you to always see the beauty in your life." She did not want a funeral or memorial service, instead she wanted us to celebrate her extraordinary life. Rest In Peace our beautiful warrior, we love you!
