Margaret (Peg) Ruth Slusser, of Exeter passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Allied Services Hospice Center in Wilkes-Barre surrounded by her family.


She was born on July 22, 1940 in Williamsport a daughter of the late John and Blanche Klopp Burton. She was a 1958 graduate of Wellsboro High School.


She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Irvin Slusser; daughter, Jane Jancuska; granddaughter Megan Vohar; sisters Judy Gulla, Elizabeth Ryan, Audrey Jimenez; brothers, Carl Bierman and David Burton.


Surviving are her children Lori Vohar and her husband Joseph, Harveys Lake, Sandra and her husband Robert, Indian Land, SC, John Slusser, Camp Hill, Richard Slusser, Exeter, Scott Slusser and his wife Amy, Kingston; son-in-law, Michael Jancuska, Luzerne; siblings, Jack Bierman, Katy, TX, Diane Sorber, Portville, NY, Linda Duda, Moosic, Susan Dudeczka, Wilkes-Barre, Gary Burton, Clarks Summit.


Peg had eight grandchildren, Megan, Kelly, Robert, Joseph, Krysta, Steven, Rachel and Elizabeth; eleven great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Jenna, Connor, Sophia, Tessa, Channing, Brenton, Alison, Bjorn, Alice and Eloise.


Peg worked at Warp Processing in Exeter and the Times Leader in Wilkes-Barre. She loved oldies music, bowling, fishing, reading and movies, and was an avid 49ers fan. She had many friends she remained close to after her retirement. Most of all Peg loved spending time with her family. She was a kind, loving, generous, hardworking person who will be sadly missed by many.


Peg’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and the staff at Allied Hospice for their dedication and exceptional care. A special thanks goes out to Dr. Elizabeth Gernhardt and her staff for their compassion, love and kindness during this very difficult time. We are eternally grateful to have you as a friend.
