Maryann A. Gugliotti

Maryann A. Gugliotti, 93, of Luzerne, passed away on August 15, 2023 at Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre. She was born December 20, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Joseph Zier and Mary (Pietrzak) Zier. She was a graduate of Luzerne High School and spent many years in the garment industry. Maryann was also employed by Pocono Downs since it first opened in the 1960's, and worked there for over forty years.

Maryann was a member of Holy Family Parish and volunteered at many of their fundraising events. She enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City, Hometown and beach trips with her Sisters and Sister-in-law, Mary Ann. She also liked watching the Phillies and Eagles on TV. Most of all she loved being with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gugliotti; brother Joseph Zier; and sister Theresa Kolesar.

Surviving are her children, Kim (Gugliotti) Boyd and her family; Joseph Gugliotti and his family; sister, Irene Samuels; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. from Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Ltd., 568 Bennett Street, Luzerne. Services will be conducted by Msgr. David Tressler, Pastor of Holy Family Parish. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Shavertown. Friends may call Sunday from 4-6 p.m.
