Maybeth Nieczykowski, 64, of Luzerne died Monday, July 4th, 2022 at her home. She was born on August 8, 1957 to Anthony Iorio and Elizabeth Iorio of Luzerne. She attended Wyoming Valley West School District and graduated in 1975. After graduating, she worked in the pants factory and then had several jobs in restaurants throughout the area before retiring. Aunt May, as most knew her by loved going to her yard sales, angels, spending money on QVC, listening to music and watching TV. She was a caring and loving individual who would do anything for anyone. Those that she spoke with can tell you she would call you out of the blue and at anytime of day or night just to gab about anything at all. That voice was so recognizable and will sadly missed by many. She also loved her get togethers with her Abe’s babes, who were lifelong friends. May also loved just to sit outside and chat with her neighbors. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, which whom she missed terribly, Anthony Iorio and Elizabeth Iorio, brothers John Iorio and Stephen Iorio, sister Mary Iorio and her dog Wiggles. Surviving are her daughter Jessica Nieczykowski, of Kingston and son Eric Johnson, of Luzerne. As well as her granddaughter Summer McMichael and grandson Eric Johnson, who were the absolute joys of her life. She loved spending time with both and seeing them grow and enjoy their many accomplishments in life. She is leaving behind her best friend, her dog Lola, who never left her side, not even at the time of her death. She is also survived by her sisters Karen Lacina of Florida, Nancy Kolesar of Swoyersville, Patricia Resetar of Kingston, brothers Anthony Iorio, Edward Iorio, Jeffrey Iorio of Kingston, Ernest Iorio, Mark Iorio of Luzerne and Martin Iorio of Florida, godchildren Kimberly Manarski and Anthony Iorio as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The funeral will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, 568 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Family Church. Friends may call Monday from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
