Rosalie Simonitis

Rosalie Simonitis, 88, of Luzerne passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026. She was born March 18, 1938 in Luzerne a daughter of the late Alexander and Bertha Roschak.

She was a graduate of Luzerne High School and a resident of Luzerne all of her life. She was a devout member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. Rosalie enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband John Simonitis. 

Surviving are her children, John Simonitis and his wife Marion Thomas, Diane Opet and her husband Neil, David Simonitis and his wife Lisa; grandchildren Stephanie Wycallis, John Simonitis Jr., Neil Opet Jr., Caitlin Opet Perlman, Alexandra Simonitis, David Simonitis; great grandchildren, Matthew and Vivian Wycallis, Carson Rose Simonitis, Noah, Desmond, Elsie Opet, Jackson Perlman, Wyatt Kotwasinski; sister Marlene Kukosky; loving friend Deborah Dixon.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, 568 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in Holy Family Parish. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Annunciation Cemetery, Pringle. Friends may call Wednesday 5-8 p.m.
