Susan Michael

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Michael, of Pringle, aged 74, on April 5, 2025.

Born September 25, 1950, in Hanover Twp., she was the daughter of the late Raymond Mayewski and Celia Thomas Mayewski. Susan was a graduate of Hanover High School.

A beloved sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, Susan is survived by her sister Donna; children Robert Jr., Steve, and Deb; and grandchildren Britt and Jonathan. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Sr., her parents and in-laws, as well as her sister Carol and her grandchild Christy.

She participated in church fundraisers, making pierogies at St. John Nepomucene Parish in Luzerne before its closure. Though she could not eat sweets for many years, her baking is well-known to family and friends.

Sue and her family spent most summers traversing the country. She has proudly visited almost every state, without stepping foot on an airplane; including Alaska.

When not traveling or baking, you could find Sue in her yard gardening, trying to beautify around her late husband's HAM antennas. She became a strong matriarchal figure in her family, and her passing has left a void in the hearts of many.

The funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, 568 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with a funeral Mass at 10:00 in Holy Family Parish. Interment will be in St. John Nepomucene Cemetery, Courtdale. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences can be sent to:
