Thomas J. Kukosky, 80, of Luzerne, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Maple Ridge Rehabilitation Center, Kingston. He was born March 1, 1943 in Kingston a son of the late Anthony and Elizabeth Calenda Kukosky. He was a 1960 graduate of Larksville High School and served in the Navy for three years aboard the USS Nantahala.
Thomas was a member of Pipefitters Union 524 and later worked as a corrections officer. Prior to his retirement he worked at SCI Dallas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and going to the casino.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, James, and Norman Kukosky.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Mary Ann Reino Kukosky; children, Thomas Kukosky and his wife Gail, Sweet Valley, Christopher Kukosky, Sweet Valley, Stephanie Hill and Bryan Best, Trucksville, Matthew Kukosky and his wife Heather, Lehman, Nicholas Kukosky and his wife Melissa, Sweet Valley; grandchildren, Jared Kukosky and his wife Tianna, Dallas, Tyler Kukosky and his wife Erin, Clarks Summit, Brynn Kukosky, Sweet Valley, Hunter and Caleb Hill, Trucksville, Iva and Cora Kukosky, Lehman; Aiden, Mason, Addison Kukosky, Sweet Valley; great grandson, Tate Kukosky; step daughters, Karen Kowalski and her husband Mike, Susan Delzeit; step grandchildren, Michael Kowalski and Sarah Delzeit; brothers Anthony Kukosky, Swoyersville, Richard Kukosky, Vineland, NJ, David Kukosky, Luzerne, Joseph Kukosky, Pittsburgh; many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. from Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, 568 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with a Funeral Mass at 10:15 in Holy Family Parish. Interment with military honors will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m.
